Åre is Sweden’s top ski resort and widely regarded as the alpine capital of Scandinavia. Offering excellent skiing and snowboarding both on groomed slopes and in off-piste terrain, Åre is ideal for families, groups, and experienced skiers alike. The resort has 102 slopes and 46 lifts, including gondolas and high-speed chairlifts, covering a wide range of terrain and ability levels. The season typically runs from late November to early May.

The Skiing
The ski area is divided into three main zones – Åre By, Björnen, and Duved/Tegefjäll – each offering a unique experience, from gentle beginner slopes and wide family-friendly runs to challenging black pistes and tree-lined trails. The resort is served by 46 lifts, including gondolas, express chairlifts and surface lifts, ensuring quick access to all areas of the mountain. Freeriders will also find plenty of off-piste terrain, while snow parks and dedicated kids’ areas make it ideal for mixed-ability groups and families.

Comfortable, well-located apartments close to the pistes, children’s lifts, cross-country tracks and family activities.
